Emergency Evacuation & Fire Drill Training

Fire Drills

 National & Manitoba Fire Codes Requires:

  • Fire drills must be held at intervals no greater than 12 months & should be documented
  • Schools, residential care facilities & high-rise buildings must have greater fire drill frequencies as per the fire code
  • All supervisory personnel or designated  fire wardens must be trained on fire drill procedures


We recommend additional procedures:

  • All occupants should be aware of all evacuation exits & fire notification devices
  • Alert 911 of a fire emergency 
  • Drills should be performed during regular business hours as well as after hours for 24 hour facilities
  • Ensure thiere are a sufficiant number of muster points for exit out of the building
  • Make sure that occupants are clear of all fire lanes & fire department access
  • Designated personnel to perform proper shut-down of buidling systems if safe to do so
